How to Use the Highlight Menu in Helperbird

What is the Highlight Menu?

The Highlight Menu is a toolbar that appears when you select text on any webpage. It gives you quick access to Helperbird's most useful tools without having to open the main extension panel.

Simply highlight some text and a small menu will appear right next to your selection.

Step 1: Open Helperbird

Click the Helperbird icon in your browser toolbar. It looks like a small owl and is usually in the top-right corner of your browser.

This will open the Helperbird menu.


Step 2: Go to the All Features Section

Scroll down to the bottom of the Helperbird menu. You will see a section called All Features.

Click the arrow next to All Features to expand it and show all available features.


Step 3: Find Highlight Menu

Look through the list of features until you see Highlight menu.


Step 4: Turn on Highlight Menu

Click the toggle switch next to Highlight menu to turn it on. The toggle will turn green when it is enabled.


Step 5: Select Text on a Webpage

Go to any webpage and use your mouse to select some text. Click and drag to highlight a word, sentence, or paragraph.

A small toolbar will appear near your selected text.


Step 6: Use the Menu Tools

Click any button in the toolbar to use that tool on your selected text. The action happens immediately.


Available Tools

The Highlight Menu includes these tools:

  • Play – Reads the selected text aloud using text-to-speech

  • Stop – Stops the text-to-speech playback

  • Dictionary – Opens a definition for the selected word

  • Search – Searches the highlighted text using your default search engine

  • Immersive – Opens the selected text in Microsoft Immersive Reader

  • Translate – Translates the highlighted text to your chosen language

  • Highlighter – Highlights the selected text in a color of your choice

Tip: The Highlight Menu works on almost any text on the web, making it easy to quickly access Helperbird's tools without opening the main extension panel.
