How to Use Helperbird on Android with Firefox

Add Helperbird to Firefox 128 or later on Android, unlock Helperbird Pro with your subscription key, and find the one feature the Firefox build hides.

Before You Start

  • Firefox from the Google Play Store (opens in a new tab), version 128 or later. Helperbird will not install on anything older.
  • Your subscription key, if you have Helperbird Pro. It is the only way in here.

Step 1: Add Helperbird from the Add-ons Menu

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
  3. Tap Add-ons
  4. Tap Find more add-ons
  5. Search for Helperbird
  6. Tap Add to Firefox, then tap Add to confirm

Firefox installs Helperbird and turns it on.

Step 2: Open the Helperbird Menu

  1. Open any web page
  2. Tap the three-dot menu, then Add-ons
  3. Tap Helperbird

Unlocking Pro on Firefox

Firefox hides the browser sign-in that Chrome and Edge offer, so the settings page shows the Subscription key box on its own.

  1. Open the Helperbird menu
  2. Tap Settings, the gear at the top
  3. Tap Login to open the Helperbird settings page
  4. Paste your key into Subscription key and tap Save

One Feature Is Missing on Firefox

Screenshot, which saves a picture of the page to your downloads, is hidden in the Firefox build, on Android and on a computer.

Screenshot Reader is a different feature and it does work in Firefox. It reads the text out of a picture and picks up any maths in the same capture, with no mode to pick. It is part of Helperbird Pro. See How to extract text from any image, PDF or website.
