How to Enable and Use Sync in Chrome or Edge
Turn browser sync on or off in Chrome and Edge, and include extensions in what syncs, so the settings Helperbird saves reach all your other computers.

Chrome and Edge have their own sync switch. This page turns it on and off.
What Browser Sync Does for Helperbird
Helperbird saves your settings in your browser's extension storage. The browser's sync switch decides whether that storage is copied to the other computers signed in to the same profile.
The switch is free and does not need Helperbird Pro. Whether Helperbird writes to synced storage at all is a separate setting inside Helperbird: see Sync or Store Data Locally in Helperbird.
Turn On Sync in Chrome
Step 1: Open Chrome settings
Click the three dots in the top-right corner of Chrome, then click Settings.
Step 2: Turn on sync
Open You and Google, then click Turn on sync. Sign in to your Google Account if Chrome asks you to.
Step 3: Include extensions
Open Sync and Google services, then Manage what you sync. Choose Customize sync and turn on Extensions.
Chrome then shows Sync is on. Menu wording moves between Chrome versions, so look for the sync section rather than the exact label.
Turn On Sync in Edge
Step 1: Open Edge settings
Click the three dots in the top-right corner of Edge, then click Settings.
Step 2: Turn on sync
Open Profiles, then Sync, then click Turn on sync. Sign in to your Microsoft account if Edge asks you to.
Step 3: Include extensions
On the same Sync page, turn on Extensions.
Edge gives each kind of data its own toggle, so Extensions can sit off while sync itself is on.
Turn Off Sync
In Chrome, go to Settings > You and Google and click Turn off. In Edge, go to Settings > Profiles > Sync and click Turn off sync.
Your browser may offer to clear the synced data from this computer at the same time. Leave that option unticked to keep your Helperbird settings here.
Changes you make after that stay on the computer you make them on. Nothing is deleted from your Google or Microsoft account.
What Browser Sync Does Not Do
- It does not send your settings to Helperbird. They travel through your Google or Microsoft account. Where Helperbird Stores Your Data covers what Helperbird itself holds.
- It does not hand Helperbird your email address. Helperbird asks for that permission separately when you sign in, and you can refuse it.
- It does not decide whether Helperbird uses sync. That is the setting in Sync or Store Data Locally in Helperbird.
