Start in Safari
Install the app, enable the extension, then open Helperbird on a webpage.
1. Download Helperbird
Get Helperbird from the App Store on your iPad or iPhone. Open the app for the setup walkthrough.
2. Enable the extension
In Settings, open Apps ā Safari ā Extensions ā Helperbird. Turn it on and choose which websites it can access.
3. Open your tools
Visit a webpage in Safari. Open the page menu or extensions button, choose Helperbird, and turn on its main switch.
A few things to know
Does it work in other iPad apps?
Helperbird's extension works on webpages in Safari. It does not change text inside other apps or the iPad interface.
Can I use my existing Pro subscription?
Yes. Enter your subscription key in Helperbird's settings on each device. Follow our subscription key guide. Safari on iOS does not use the Google or Microsoft sign-in flow.
Will my desktop settings appear here?
Set up your reading preferences on each device. Helperbird does not automatically sync your desktop browser settings into Safari on iPad or iPhone. See the iOS and desktop differences.
Why has a page not changed?
Check that Helperbird is enabled in Safari, has permission for the website, and its main switch is on. Refresh the webpage after enabling it. Text inside images cannot be changed with font or spacing settings.

Helperbird is one of the most helpful tools I've ever used. It has so many great features that not many other apps or software have. The free version can be installed and stay forever on your browser. Other companies don't always give you access for free or give access for free forever. When you do get access to the Pro version or other paid plans, you expand your opportunity to read and stay focused better. One of the other great things about Helperbird is their support service. They have a video for every single feature that you can use. They are simple and helpful videos that make the learning process a lot easier. In addition, they have great live chat support. They are super nice and helpful. They always encourage people to give suggestions on how to improve Helperbird. Why is this important? It shows they really care about people with disabilities or people in general.
