How to Highlight Text and Change the Highlight Color on Any Website
Learn how to use Helperbird's highlighter to highlight text on any website and choose the highlight color that works best for you.

What is Highlight Color?
The Highlight color feature turns on Helperbird's highlighter, so you can highlight text on any website. It works just like a highlighter pen on paper.
Your highlights are saved, so they are still there when you come back to the page. You can also click a highlight at any time to view it in Helperbird's notes.
Who is This For?
This feature is helpful for:

- People who use color to help them focus on and remember key points
- Researchers who collect text from many websites
- Anyone who wants their highlights saved so they can come back to them later
- Anyone who wants to personalize their reading experience
Step 1: Open Helperbird
Click the Helperbird icon in your browser toolbar. It looks like a small owl and is usually in the top-right corner of your browser.
This will open the Helperbird menu.
Step 2: Open the All Features Section
Scroll down to the bottom of the Helperbird menu. You will see a section called All Features.
Click the arrow next to All Features to expand it and show all available features.
Step 3: Find Colors
Look through the list of features until you see Colors.
It has a yellow icon with a paint palette on it.
Step 4: Open the Colors Panel
Click the open panel (arrow) button on the Colors row.
A panel will appear with four color options: Text color, Link color, Background color, and Highlight color.
Step 5: Turn on Highlight Color
In the Colors panel, look for Highlight color.
Click the toggle switch next to it to turn it on. The toggle will turn green when it is enabled.
Step 6: Choose Your Color
Once Highlight color is turned on, a color palette will appear below the toggle.
Click on any color to select it. This sets the pen color the highlighter uses when you highlight text.
If you do not see a color you like, you can click the color picker icon to choose any custom color.
Tip: Yellow, light green, and light pink are popular choices because they provide good contrast on most websites while still allowing you to read the highlighted text clearly.
Step 7: Highlight Text on a Page
Select the text you want to highlight on any website. A small toolbar will appear next to your selection.
Click the highlighter (pen) button on the toolbar to show the highlight colors: blue, green, red, yellow, gray, and purple. Click a color to highlight your selected text in that color.
Your highlight is saved automatically. Click on any highlight to open it in Helperbird's notes.
