Speed Reading has been removed
This page used to cover Speed Reading. It flashed one word at a time in the middle of your screen, so your eyes never had to move.
Speed Reading is no longer part of Helperbird. If you look for it in the extension today, you will not find it. Nothing went wrong on your end - the feature was retired.
What to use instead
Helperbird still has strong tools for reading faster and staying on track. These are the closest matches:
- Reading Mode - Clears away ads, sidebars, and clutter. You get a clean page with just the words. With less on screen, most people read faster and feel calmer doing it.
- Text to Speech - Reads any page out loud to you. You can raise the voice speed as you get comfortable, so you move through text quickly without tiring your eyes.
- Focus Ruler - Highlights one line at a time as you move down the page. It keeps your place, so you can push your pace without losing your spot. Reading Guide does a similar job with a movable bar.
Tips for reading faster
- Start with Reading Mode to cut distractions first.
- Add Text to Speech and nudge the voice speed up a little each day.
- Use the Focus Ruler when your eyes jump between lines.
Try one tool at a time. Keep what works for you.
