Break Up Walls of Text

Some pages are just dense blocks of text with nothing to break them up. It's easy to lose your place or feel overwhelmed before you even start reading.

Paragraph borders add visual separation between sections. Each paragraph gets its own space, making it easier to see where one ends and the next begins.

Learn how to highlight paragraphs

  • Reading Guide - Use a horizontal line to track your position across paragraphs.
  • Color Overlay - Add a background tint that complements paragraph borders.
  • Highlight Menu - Highlight specific words and phrases within paragraphs.

What You Can Customize

Border color: Pick any color that helps you see the separation clearly.

Border style: Solid, dashed, or dotted lines.

Border width: Thin and subtle or thick and obvious.

Background color: Add a background tint to paragraphs.

Text color: Change the text color within paragraphs if needed.

Why This Helps

Track your position: When every paragraph has a clear boundary, it's easier to keep your place.

Reduce overwhelm: Dense text becomes less intimidating when it's visually broken up.

Support ADHD and dyslexia: Visual structure can help maintain focus and reduce the "jumping" sensation some readers experience.

Who Uses This

Readers with dyslexia or ADHD who benefit from visual structure.

Students reading long academic texts or research papers.

Anyone who finds dense paragraphs hard to follow.

More reading features

Where to start! Firstly, I'd like to thank Robert (the developer) for his generosity - the app is extremely cheap as apps go. It is very apparent that this app is a labour of love - Robert is constantly working on it and improving things, adding new features, etc. As someone with ADHD and ASD, I have always had to piece-meal together the features I need to help me study effectively - half a dozen different apps / extensions, and even then they don't quite meet my expectations. Helperbird, however, offers SO MUCH more, and all in one place - you can finetune your experience to your heart's desire. The features I particularly love are summarise, simplify, sticky notes, highlighting, and the amazing immersive reader with TTS. I can't sing Helperbird's praises enough. Thank you, Robert, for such a thoughtful - and genuinely helpful - app. You are empowering the neurodivergent everywhere.
